Program
options:
The Afro-Brazilian Global Arts
Laboratory presents 1 - 2 hour programs designed
for each grade level, Elementary, Junior High School, High
School, and Universities.
The goal of these programs is to educate and bring a new
culture rich in diversity.
Global Arts is
also very committed in its emphasis and relationship to nature,
and therefore through lecture and demonstration of its Afro-Brazilian
traditional elements students will learn to recognize the
importance nature and its symbolic value.The program is also
designed for active student participation and interaction..
*Introduction to Brazil
*History of Traditional Dance, Music
and Folklore
*Dance and Music Demonstrations with
Dancers/Musicians in traditional costume
*Lecture/Commentary on the the origins
of the traditional dances and drum patterns.
*Global Context - Discussion on how
Bahia and its influences make up the global village.
*Exploration of the impact of culture
in the environment.
